Co-Located within WISE 2026, the Student Symposium is a forum where MSc/MA, junior and senior PhD students can present their research ideas, confront them with the scientific community, receive feedback from mentors and tie cooperation bounds in the broad areas of the Web, Data Management and Information systems, AI, Cybersecurity. Please, refer to the conference web page for the complete list of topics. Students will receive inspiration from their peers and will have a chance to discuss their research objectives with senior community members in the context of an established international conference. The ST session will take place during the conference. Each participant will present her/his work, followed by a discussion with senior researchers. Receiving feedback about your work from senior researchers and discussing it with them is an excellent opportunity to receive valuable comments and suggestions on the research activity.
One accepted paper will be awarded the “Best Student Paper Award” by the Program Committee members.

Papers should be submitted in PDF format. The results described must be unpublished and must not be under review elsewhere. Submissions must conform to Springer LNCS format and should not exceed 12 pages, including all text, figures, references, and appendices. Submissions not conforming to the LNCS format or being obviously out of the scope of the conference, will be rejected without review. Three to five keywords characterizing the paper should be indicated at the end of the abstract.
Papers must be submitted via Microsoft CMT under the “Student Papers” track.
The selected papers will be published in the conference proceedings.
We expect to have a few grants to waive fully or partially conference registration.
The Student Symposium welcomes all Master and PhD students. Master and PhD students in the early stages of their work should state clearly their addressed research problem and give the traits of the solutions they would like to explore. PhD students in advanced stages of their work are also welcome to present their works and get constructive feedback to fine-tune their solutions.
