Co-Located with MEDES 2025, the Student Track (ST) is a forum where students at multiple stages of their education (including high school, undergraduate, MSc/MA, junior and senior PhD students) can present their research ideas, confront them with the scientific community, receive feedback from mentors and tie cooperation bounds. Students will receive inspiration from their peers and will have a chance to discuss their research objectives with senior community members in the context of an established international conference. The ST session will take place during the conference. Each participant will present her/his work, followed by a discussion with senior researchers. Receiving feedback about your work from senior researchers and discussing it with them is an excellent opportunity to receive valuable comments and suggestions on the research activity.
One accepted paper will be awarded the “Best Student Paper Award” by the Program Committee members.
Submit a paper of at least 2 pages and at most 4 pages in Springer LNCS format and describe the state of the whole research project, rather than a specific completed result. You must be the only author of the paper. The paper should outline the objectives, the problem, state of the art, results obtained so far, and what is still to be done in the frame of the research project. The selected ST papers will be published together with the workshops’ proceedings, by Springer in the Communications in Computer and Information Science series.
There are many good reasons to submit, such as:
- Mentorship program: ST provides a unique opportunity for students to receive constructive feedback and to improve their work through a pre-submission mentorship program.
- Improving your publication record: publishing a paper as an undergraduate or as a MSc/MA student is beneficial when applying for a PhD program. Publishing a paper in ST can be really helpful for improving students’ publication record.
All accepted papers will be presented either as oral presentations or during poster sessions, which will give students an opportunity to interact with and to present their work to a large and diverse audience, including top researchers in the field and assigned mentors.
The ST offers students the opportunity to receive feedback prior to submitting their work for review. The goal of the pre-submission program is to improve the quality of writing and presentation of the student’s work, not to critique the work itself. Participation is optional but encouraged. The pre-submission mentorship is not anonymous.
Students wishing to participate in the pre-submission mentorship must submit their paper draft by July 27, 2025.
The participants will receive a feedback within four weeks from the program committee. The feedback will be in the form of guidelines and suggestions to improve the overall writing, which should ideally be incorporated before the actual submission deadline.
We expect to have a few grants to waive fully or partially conference registration.
