The aim of the forum is to provide PhD students at all stages of their research a supportive environment to discuss their research proposal, receive guidance and feedback from leading members of the computer systems and applications research community and promote networking and collaboration while enjoying the AICCSA conference and many associated workshops. A special session will be devoted to career mentoring for the students in attendance that will involve round table discussions and CV preparation workshop.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\"><strong>Submission Instructions<\/strong><\/mark><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">All submissions should be 2 pages long as extended abstract, formatted according to the IEEE Computer Society Press proceedings style guide and submitted electronically in PDF format. Please register as authors and submit your papers on EasyChair (<a href=\"https:\/\/easychair.org\/conferences\/?conf=aiccsa2025\" style=\"color:#cf2e2e\">Here<\/a>) while selecting the \u201cPhD Forum\u201d track during the submission. Student applicants must be enrolled in a Ph.D. program at the time of submission and first author of the paper should be the PhD student followed by the PhD supervisors.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">PhD students working in any area addressed by one or more topics under the AICSSA\u201925 conference main tracks can submit a paper describing the core problem of their PhD research and its relevance by providing a clear statement of the problem they intend to address, the motivation of the interest and novelty of the underlying research challenges, the explanation of the main ideas by examples, and a description of the proposed research plan and expected results. Submissions should be written using the following structure:<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">Problem Statement and Motivation<\/mark>:<\/strong>&nbsp;<mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">What problem do you solve in your Ph.D. project and why is it exciting? Present scenarios to motivate the research, highlight its challenges. Articulate your objectives.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">Background and Related Work<\/mark>:<\/strong>&nbsp;<mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">How is it done today, and what are the limits of current practice? Discuss your findings from your literature review and highlight what is missing and how you are going to improve state-of-the-art.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">Approach and Uniqueness<\/mark>:<\/strong>&nbsp;<mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">What is new in your approach and why do you think it will be successful?<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">Current Status:<\/mark><\/strong>&nbsp;<mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">Describe the current state of the work and if applicable present the preliminary results that have been already reached.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">Expected Results and Contributions<\/mark>:<\/strong>&nbsp;<mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">What are the expected outcomes and how will those enable\/enrich the community, an application domain, or a broader ecosystem?<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\"><strong>Important Dates (Anywhere on Earth)<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/mark><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-04ae8aa9005f80fc26be76652749f609\">Paper proposals due: <strong>30 June, 2025<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-4f5414cdf6bf6eaf60c928c29b4435ea\">Notification of acceptance: <strong>28 July, 2025<\/strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\"><strong><br><\/strong><\/mark><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Accepted PhD Papers<\/mark><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">If selected, authors shall prepare a final camera-ready version of the paper, taking into account all feedback from reviewers, and formatted according to the IEEE Computer Society Press proceedings style guide. PhD Symposium papers will be advertised in the final program and will be submitted to IEEE Xplore as part of the AICCSA\u201925 proceedings. Papers will also be available as part of the IEEE Digital Library.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Review Process, Format of the Forum, Best Paper Award<\/mark><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">Each submission will be reviewed by at least two experts of the PhD Forum organization and will be evaluated in terms of their relevance to the AICCSA\u201925 topics, motivation and research challenges, soundness of the methodology proposed and feasibility of the research plan. Each accepted paper will have two different opportunities to be presented. Besides the full presentation during the PhD Forum sessions, during the main conference, a \u201cPhD Elevator Pitch Session\u201d will be organized where each PhD student will showcase their research shortly (3min presentation). The Best PhD Forum Paper will be selected, and the award will be presented during the main conference.
